Paula won in New York on Sunday, by a huge margin!
She’s proving that quite possibly she ‘could have’ in Beijing if she hadn’t been injured before. We’ve only got four years to find out if she has at London 2012!
She’s showing amazing character to keep going so strong through such adversity. Someone who has spent her life trying to achieve her goal, and come so close and yet so far. At the end of the day she may never complete her goal. That certainly doesn’t mean her efforts were worthless…far from. This demonstrates the meaning of autotelic (as I mentioned in my last blog) – enjoying doing something for its own sake.
If your goal is a means to an end, you may be doing it for the wrong reasons. Do your goals aline with your core values, and will you enjoy the process rather than simply the end result? Life is too short not to enjoy the journey as well!
